MOUNTAIN LAKES — The Mountain Lakes Educational Foundation (MLEF) is launching its first-ever Capital Campaign with a goal of raising $60,000 to support much-needed infrastructure upgrades and a virtual desktop interface to be deployed throughout the Mountain Lakes School District (MLSD).  This $60,000 is in addition to the $70,000 the MLEF donated to kick-off the VDI/infrastructure upgrade program.

To kick off the “Driven By Excellence” campaign, the MLEF is raffling off a 2021 Mercedes Benz GLA250.  Each raffle ticket costs $200 and only 500 tickets will be available for sale. Information about where to purchase the tickets can be found by clicking here.

The winner will be announced live on Facebook on November 25.  Participants do not need to be present to win.  For official rules & guidelines click here.

“The administration thanks the Mountain Lakes community for its support as we navigate the “new normal” of a socially distanced school day,” said Michael Fetherman, MLSD superintendent. “We thank the MLEF for helping to kick off the virtual desktop interface program that will increase the students’ access to advanced computer programs whether they are in the schools or at home.”

“For more than 20 years the MLEF has been awed by the generosity of our community in supporting our schools,” said MLEF President Liz Festa. “We are confident that our friends and neighbors will once again help provide the best tools for our students and teachers to succeed in this new learning environment.”

The MLSD Virtual Desktop Initiative (VDI) enables teachers and students to access complex software from any computer (at home or in school) through a basic Internet browser. As its usage grows, VDI will benefit students at MLHS, Briarcliff, and Wildwood.

The Mercedes-Benz was generously provided by Mercedes-Benz of Paramus. In addition to purchasing a ticket, there are sponsorship opportunities.  Please contact mledfoundation@gmail.com for more information.
