DOVER — Following a crash on Monday, April 29, in Denville Township, a Dover man is confronting charges of driving while intoxicated and drug possession.

At 5:00 p.m. on April 30, authorities were summoned to the parking lot of Mavis Discount Tire, located at 44 Righter Avenue, in response to a motor vehicle collision.

Upon investigation, it was determined that the driver involved in the incident was Steven Alterisio, 31, from Dover, who purportedly operated his vehicle while under the influence, according to police statements.

Furthermore, Alterisio was discovered to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.

Subsequently, Alterisio was apprehended and charged with driving under the influence of Liquor or Drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, reckless driving, careless driving, and improper display of plates. He was subsequently released pending a court appearance.

A criminal complaint is merely an accusation. Despite this accusation, this Defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
