Denville Police Arrest Driver After Reports of Vehicle Stopped in Roadway

MORRIS COUNTY — Denville Police arrested a Rockaway man on multiple motor vehicle charges following an incident late Tuesday night, January 28.

According to police, officers responded at approximately 9:42 p.m. to Pocono Road after receiving a report of a driver sleeping behind the steering wheel in a lane of travel. Upon arrival and investigation, officers determined the driver was operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated  .

The driver, identified as Jesus A. Ruizhernandez, 41, of Rockaway, was taken into custody and transported to Denville Police Headquarters for processing.

Ruizhernandez was charged with driving while under the influence, reckless driving, careless driving, failure to use required lights, driving with a suspended license, delaying traffic, and failure to observe a traffic control device. After being issued the appropriate motor vehicle summonses, he was released pending a future court appearance in Denville Municipal Court.
