JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP — The Jefferson Arts Committee is inviting residents to another summer of free concerts at the Jefferson Township Gazebo, located in the Jefferson Township Municipal Complex, 1033 Weldon Road, Oak Ridge.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket, and all concerts begin at 6:30 p.m. The events are bring-your-own snacks and non-alcoholic beverages, with free parking, family friendly activities, carry-in carry-out trash policies, and a dedicated portable restroom on site.
Friday, July 24, features Jersey Sound, one of the Tri-State area’s most popular premiere oldies bands, performing a combination of music genres. The band offers an eclectic blend of classic oldies, classic rock, Motown, rhythm and blues, British Invasion, and pop music originally recorded by the greatest legends of rock and roll, performed by the band’s vocalists and rhythm section.
Frank Capello will return with his Lil Ice Trike Company ice cream truck to attend many of the concerts, offering frozen treats for sale. While all concerts are free, a free will donation is always appreciated to help fund the series.
The free concert series continues throughout the summer, with the final concert scheduled for Friday evening, August 21. In the event of inclement weather, a concert will be relocated to the Jefferson Township High School Auditorium, located at 1010 Weldon Road. Snacks and beverages are not permitted inside the auditorium.
