HANOVER TOWNSHIP — The 200 Club of Morris County will hold a free community event next month honoring local first responders and inviting residents to learn about the organization’s work.
The First Responder Appreciation and Membership Night will take place Wednesday, October 14, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Chimney Rock Inn, 750 Route 10 West, in the Whippany section of Hanover Township. Admission is free and open to the public.
Complimentary pizza, salad and soda will be provided through the support of event sponsors JCT Solutions and HeroCare Health. Organizers said the evening is intended to bring residents together with the first responders who serve their communities, giving neighbors a chance to meet local police officers, firefighters and emergency medical personnel while learning how membership in The 200 Club supports them.
Membership in The 200 Club helps support the families of first responders who have lost their lives in the line of duty, provides higher education scholarships to qualified recipients, and recognizes first responders for extraordinary acts of valor and meritorious service.
“This is a night for our entire community to come together and show our first responders how much we appreciate what they do for us every day,” said Thomas “Ace” Gallagher, The 200 Club’s vice president and chairman of membership and outreach, who also serves as mayor of Hanover Township. “We want everyone to feel welcome. You don’t have to be a first responder to be part of The 200 Club — you simply have to believe in supporting the people who are always there for us.”
“Come have some pizza, bring a friend, meet your neighbors and our first responders, and learn what The 200 Club is all about,” Gallagher added. “This is your opportunity to become part of a community that stands behind those who serve us.”
The event is sponsored by JCT Solutions and HeroCare Health.
