MORRISTOWN — A popular Morristown bar was recently transformed for an upcoming Netflix limited series starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

Filming for the series, an adaptation of the novel “Enigma Variations” by André Aciman, took place on a Friday at Tavern off the Green.

Michelle Moore, one of the bar’s owners, said the production team transformed the tavern into a college bar. The crew began setting up the day before, on Thursday, she said.

Moore said she was on site with the crew throughout the shoot and got a glimpse of the actors while they were rehearsing, spotting stars including Taylor-Johnson.

According to Netflix, “Enigma Variations” will be reminiscent of Aciman’s novel “Call Me by Your Name,” which was adapted into an award-winning movie.

The series will also star Alicia Vikander, known for her roles in “The Danish Girl” and “Ex Machina,” as Claire, along with Riley Keough, Devon Terrell, Nicholas Podany and Carl Clemons-Hopkins.
