MADISON — Carolyn Dorfman Dance, a contemporary modern dance company based in Union, will present “Every Body Tells A Story: Folk Tales, Family Stories, and Real Lives in Motion” at the Madison Community Arts Center, 10 Kings Road, on Saturday, December 5, at 4:00 p.m.
The afternoon invites audiences to join Artistic Director Carolyn Dorfman and the company for a joyful program in which dance takes center stage as the storyteller.
The family-friendly, interactive performance will be narrated by Dorfman and will feature excerpts from “Dance Stories,” “The Klezmer Sketch,” and “The Hero Within: The Story of Max Heller, Mary Mills, and Miracles.” Audience members will also have the opportunity to create their own dance alongside the company. The 90-minute program is a ticketed event.
The day before, on Friday, December 4, the company will offer a free, open-level dance workshop at the Madison Community Arts Center from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m., led by Dorfman and several company members. Space is limited to 20 participants on a first-come, first-served basis, and registration is required.
Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for children under 12. To purchase tickets or register for the free workshop, click here.
