RANDOLPH — County College of Morris (CCM) is accepting applications through Monday, November 2, for the next cohort of its Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science Apprenticeship, offering CCM students and adult learners living in New Jersey an opportunity to gain paid, hands-on experience while preparing for a career in the fast-growing fields of artificial intelligence, machine learning and data science.
The apprenticeship connects classroom learning at CCM with real-world work experience. Upon completion of 30 credits of college coursework and 2,000 hours of paid, on-the-job training by industry professionals, students earn a certificate in AI and Data Science from CCM and a Registered Apprenticeship Certificate of Completion from the New Jersey Department of Labor. As part of the program, employers can also help apprentices build professional skills, expand their networks and contribute to New Jersey’s evolving workforce.
Tuition and fees, if eligible, are covered toward CCM’s AI and Data Science Certificate. The college credits earned can also be applied toward completion of a 60-credit associate degree at CCM, with the opportunity to transfer to a four-year university to earn a bachelor’s degree.
“Artificial intelligence and data science are reshaping the global economy at an unprecedented pace,” said Nancy Binowski, professor of AI and Data Science at CCM. “Through this innovative earn-and-learn model, students gain real-world experience in a dynamic, in-demand field, while employers have an opportunity to develop emerging talent and apply AI and data science solutions to business needs.”
With support from the New Jersey Community College Consortium for Workforce and Economic Development, CCM was selected as one of only two community colleges in New Jersey to help deliver the state’s first United States Department of Labor-registered AI and Data Science Apprenticeship. The initiative further positions CCM as a leader in preparing New Jersey’s workforce for proficiency in data science and artificial intelligence across a wide range of industries.
Applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, November 2. To apply, click here.
