Bucco Assembly seat to be filled at special GOP convention

BOONTON TOWNSHIP — The 25th Legislative District will decide who gets the Assembly seat of now-Sen. Anthony Bucco during a special convention scheduled on Thursday, November 21 at 7:00 p.m. in the County College of Morris student center, 214 Center Grove Road, Randolph. The convention will take place in the Davidson Room in the Student Community Center.

Bucco, a Boonton resident, was sworn into the Senate seat vacated by the death of his father, Sen. Anthony R. Bucco in the Statehouse in Trenton on Thursday, October 24. Bucco Sr. died on September 16.

All committee persons must be on a list that is certified by the County Clerk and the County Chairman. County committee vacancies may only be filled with those who live and vote in the district.

All potential candidates must file a letter of intent which must be received by both County Chairmen (Morris and Somerset) no later than Thursday, November 14, 2019. The 25th Legislative District includes Boonton Town, Boonton Township, Mountain Lakes, Chester Borough, Chester Township, Denville Township, Dover Town, Mendham Borough, Mendham Township, Mine Hill Township, Morris Township, Morristown, Mount Arlington Borough, Netcong Borough, Randolph Township, Rockaway Borough, Roxbury Township, Victory Gardens Borough, Washington Township and Wharton Borough; and Bernardsville in Somerset County.
