HANOVER — As a precautionary public and employee safety measure, effective March 17, and until further notice, the Township of Hanover Department of Public Works (DPW) complex and Recycling Center will be closed to the public in an effort to prevent social contact and potential transmission of the COVID-19 virus. Residents will not be allowed to enter the DPW complex located at 25 North Jefferson Road in Whippany to drop off any items or the Recycling Center located off Stoney Brook Road. The DPW office will also be closed to the public.
Curbside sanitation, recycling collection, and yard waste collection will continue as scheduled. Bulk sanitation collection will be done by appointment only. Residents need to call the DPW at (973) 428-2495 to schedule an appointment.
The DPW is acting out of an abundance of caution as the pandemic runs its course and appreciates the public’s patience, understanding, and use of our curbside collection programs to properly dispose of sanitation, recycling, and bulk items. Updates will be provided on the Township’s website at www.hanovertownship.com and through the media, including when public access can again resume. If anyone has any questions about the DPW complex closure, they can call the Department of Public Works at (973) 428-2495.
