Motorist charged with Possession of CDS

HANOVER TOWNSHIP — Hanover Township Police Sergeant Anthony Vitanza arrested Mr. Edwitch Racine, 29, Union, for Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS), on Thursday, July 11.

Mr. Racine was stopped for a motor vehicle violation and during conversation, Sgt. Vitanza observed signs of CDS use inside the vehicle.

A subsequent search resulted in Sgt. Vitanza locating suspected marijuana. Mr. Racine was arrested and transported to Hanover Township Police Headquarters for processing.

He was charged with Possession of CDS and was issued a motor vehicle summonses for having CDS in a motor vehicle. He was then released pending his court date.

Editor’s Note: An arrest or the signing of a criminal complaint is merely an accusation.  Despite this accusation, the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until he or she has been proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
