HANOVER TOWNSHIP — The Southeast Morris County Municipal Utilities Authority (SMCMUA), serving Hanover Township, wants its service area to now that a postcard from AWP, based in Delaware being distributed to customers asking them to call the company for water testing is unauthorized.
“We attempted to call the number listed but were unable to speak to a representative,” an SMCMUA advisory sent on Monday, November 4 noted.
“Review of our records indicate a similar notice was distributed in 2016 where, at that time, we contacted AWP and were informed that the postcard mailer was for a water testing service being offered by Home Depot. An internet search on the return address resulted in BBB reference identifying the company AWP as Atlantic Water Products.
“SMCMUA does not support the solicitation being made for water testing by Home Depot and/or AWP.
“The Authority is committed to providing superior quality water that exceeds the standards established by the Federal and State Safe Drinking Water Acts. We encourage members of our community to contact us directly and to visit our website for additional information on our water quality, including our annual consumer confidence reports.”
