Drone Came Close to Commercial Aircraft over Boonton Township

BOONTON TOWNSHIP — The Boonton Township Police Department is investigating an incident from the evening of Saturday, February 29 involving a drone which came in close contact with a commercial aircraft over the northern part of Boonton Township.

Boonton Township Police along with the FAA determined that the drone was flying at approximately 18,000 feet which is in violation of Federal Aviation Rules.
