HANOVER — On July 16, 2023, the Hanover Township Police Department received a concerning report regarding Mr. William Morehouse, a 79-year-old resident of Hanover Township. The report alleged that Mr. Morehouse was involved in downloading and viewing child pornography on his personal computer. Acting swiftly, Detective David Littman initiated a thorough investigation into the matter.
Detective Littman obtained a search warrant for Mr. Morehouse’s residence, vehicle, and all electronic devices based on the gathered evidence. The joint efforts of the Hanover Township Police Department, Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, and Morris County Sheriff’s Special Operations Team led to the execution of the search warrant on Monday, July 24. During the operation, several electronic devices were seized and examined thoroughly.
As a result of the initial search, Mr. William Morehouse was subsequently charged with one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child – Possession of Child Pornography. Following his arrest, he was held in custody at the Morris County Correctional Facility pending his court date. The authorities are committed to ensuring that justice is served, and the case will be thoroughly handled in the legal process to protect the welfare of children and uphold the law.
