HANOVER TOWNSHIP – Police arrested a Morristown man after an alleged pepper spray assault outside a McDonald’s on Ridgedale Avenue.

On Friday, August 22, Hanover Township patrols responded to the fast-food restaurant following reports of an assault. According to the investigation, Justin Kennedy, 26, of Morristown, became verbally abusive toward a female employee. When a bystander intervened, a confrontation ensued.

As both men were leaving the restaurant, police said Kennedy turned and sprayed the victim in the face with pepper spray.

Kennedy was arrested and transported to police headquarters. He was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, disorderly conduct, and multiple traffic violations. He was later released pending a court appearance.
