Jefferson Township Woman Charged With DWI, Open Container Violation

JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP — A township woman was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated on July 9, according to a Jefferson Township Police Department report.

Michelle C. Dilapi, 30, was arrested at 4:05 p.m. and handcuffed at the scene, according to the report. Police said Dilapi’s car was checked before and after she was placed in the back seat of the patrol vehicle. The case was investigated by Police Officer Liam Shernce.

Dilapi was charged with the following:

  • Driving under the influence of liquor or drugs (39:4-50)
  • Reckless driving (39:4-96)
  • Traffic on marked lanes (39:4-88)
  • Open container of alcohol or unsealed cannabis in a motor vehicle (39:4-51B)

Dilapi is due to appear in Jefferson Township Municipal Court on July 30, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. on the driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and open container charges. The traffic on marked lanes charge carries a penalty of $186.00, payable by July 23, 2026.
