DOVER — A Dover man faces multiple charges, including driving under the influence, following a motor vehicle stop on Route 46 East, according to the Denville Police Department.

Officers stopped Florentin Flores-Zapata, 61, on the night of July 19 after observing his vehicle traveling well below the posted speed limit. During the stop, officers noted signs of impairment and administered standardized field sobriety tests. Based on the results, police determined Flores-Zapata was operating the vehicle while intoxicated and placed him under arrest.

He was transported to Denville Police Headquarters for processing and issued summonses for Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs, Careless Driving, Delaying Traffic, Reckless Driving, and Possession of an Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle.

A criminal complaint is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
