DOVER – In an incredible display of community spirit and collaboration, the Kiwanis Club of Greater Dover, in partnership with Mayor James P. Dodd and the Town of Dover, successfully conducted a Hurricane Helene Relief Drive. Over just four days, the drive collected and shipped essential items to areas affected by the hurricane, surpassing all expectations.

The relief drive brought together local residents, businesses, and town officials, who contributed a wide range of items, including baby diapers, clothing, food, and pet supplies. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of the Dover community, the drive was able to send out not one, but two shipments of donations to those in need.

“This is a testament to the heart of Dover,” said Mayor Dodd. “Our residents and businesses came together quickly and with great compassion. I am proud to have worked alongside the Kiwanis Club in this effort.”

The Kiwanis Club expressed their deep gratitude to all who participated in making the relief effort a success, with special thanks to key community leaders who helped spearhead the project, including Councilman Sergio Rodriguez, Councilman Geovani Estacio, Councilwoman Claudia Toro, Council Candidate Veronica Velez, and Council Candidate Nancy Pino.

“We couldn’t have done this without the immense support of our community and local businesses,” said Sergio Rodriguez, President Kiwanis Club of Greater Dover. “The generosity shown by Dover’s residents and business owners has been truly inspiring, and it’s moments like these that remind us of the power of working together for the greater good.”

Several local businesses and organizations also played an integral role in the relief drive, contributing donations and resources. Among them were Plaza Bakery, Casa Verde, La Notaria, Health & Wellness Center of Dover, One11 Bar & Kitchen, RBM Maintenance, Premier Taxi, Johanna’s Boutique, Carla’s Mini Market, MS Pro Construction, DJ 525, Alexa Travel, Tierras y Sabores, Pacific Multiservices, La Bamba, and Charlotte’s Web.

“The dedication from every corner of Dover made this possible,” said Angela Smith, a Dover resident who played a key role in coordinating donations. “It’s been heartwarming to see so many people step up during such a critical time.”

This remarkable show of support from the Dover community is a reflection of its unity and compassion in times of need. The success of the Hurricane Helene Relief Drive stands as a testament to what can be achieved when local government, businesses, and residents work together toward a common goal.

The Kiwanis Club of Greater Dover extends their deepest thanks to everyone involved in this effort. Together, the community has made a significant difference for those affected by Hurricane Helene, ensuring that vital supplies reached those who needed them most.

“We are truly grateful for your dedication and support in making this relief effort such a success,” the Kiwanis Club said in a statement.
