MORRIS COUNTY — The Watnong VFW Post 3401 of Morris Plains will host its annual Golf Outing on Monday, June 1, 2026, at Farmstead Country Club, 88 Lawrence Road, Lafayette. This year’s event is held in memory of Jack O’Brien and aims to bring the community together for a day of golf, camaraderie, and support for those who have served our nation.

Registration begins at 7:00 a.m. with a continental breakfast, followed by an 8:00 a.m. shotgun scramble start. The outing will conclude with a buffet lunch and awards ceremony at 1:00 p.m.

The cost is $140 per golfer, which includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, food, a gift bag, hole contests, and opportunities to win prizes including Closest to the Pin, Longest Drive, Most Accurate Shot, and Lowest Team Score. A full foursome can register for $560.

This annual outing is more than a tournament—it is a mission. Funds raised support veterans, service members, and their families through critical programs focused on advocacy, emergency assistance, and mental wellness. Sponsorship and participation directly support those who have worn the uniform and defended our freedoms.

Community members and businesses are encouraged to participate, sponsor the event, or make a donation in support of the VFW’s important work assisting veterans and their families.

The deadline to register is Friday, May 15, 2026.

Participants can register online by clicking here.
