JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP — The Jefferson Arts Committee invites residents, families, and music lovers out for the final show of another summer of free concerts at the Jefferson Township Gazebo, located in the Jefferson Township Municipal Complex at 1033 Weldon Road, Oak Ridge.
Friday, August 21, at 6:30 p.m., the series wraps up with a performance by Naughty Humphrey, a cover band specializing in popular songs from the 1960s through today. The group says it aims to “resurrect” overlooked classics from across music history, promising to “rock your favorite classics unabashedly” for anyone looking for variety.
As with the rest of the series, admission is free. Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket, and the event is BYO snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. Parking is free, the concert is family friendly, and a dedicated port-a-john will be on site. Guests are asked to carry in and carry out their own trash.
Frank Capello will return with his Lil Ice Trike Co. ice cream truck, offering frozen treats for sale. While the concerts are free, organizers say a free-will donation is always appreciated to help fund the series.
In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be relocated to the Jefferson Township High School auditorium, just up the road at 1010 Weldon Road. Snacks and beverages are not permitted inside the auditorium.
