HANOVER TOWNSHIP — Hanover Township Police Officer Dan Foesel arrested Mr. Mark Ciancio, 36, currently staying at the Red Carpet Inn and Ms. Jessica Rivera, 36, also staying at the Red Carpet Inn, on Saturday, February 29.

Officer Foesel was originally dispatched to the Red Carpet Inn for a medical aid and while on scene he detected the odor of marijuana coming from the room next door to the medical aid.

After clearing from the medical aid, he knocked on the door he believed the odor was coming from. Mr. Ciancio answered the door and a cloud of smoke was observed and a strong smell of marijuana was detected.

After a brief investigation, both Mr. Ciancio and his girlfriend Ms. Rivera were arrested and charged with two counts of possession of CDS and drug paraphernalia.

Ms. Rivera also had several active warrants totaling approximately $1500.00. Both parties were released pending their court dates.

Editor’s Note: An arrest or the signing of a criminal complaint is merely an accusation.  Despite this accusation, the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until he or she has been proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
