JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP — Amanda Nevins, currently the deputy clerk in Jefferson Township, has been appointed municipal clerk in Rockaway Borough, according to an announcement approved by the Rockaway Borough Council at its Thursday, August 13 meeting.
Nevins’ appointment, which is contingent upon a successful background check, is effective September 2. Her salary in the new role was not immediately available.
She will succeed Kimberly Cuspilich, who recently resigned from the Rockaway Borough clerk position as of July 23. According to borough officials, Cuspilich accepted a position as Pequannock Township clerk. At the July 23 Rockaway Borough Council meeting, Cuspilich was approved to continue serving as borough clerk on a part-time basis following her resignation.
In May, Nevins reportedly stepped in as acting clerk in Jefferson Township following the resignation of the township’s clerk, Michele Reilly. Jefferson Township has since appointed Joanna Myung, previously the clerk for the Borough of Deal, as its permanent municipal clerk.
Rockaway Borough remains without a deputy clerk.
The Rockaway Borough Council will next meet on Thursday, September 10.
