DOVER — Members of the Dover Police Department recently participated in the Dover High School Career Fair, where they met with students from the junior class to discuss careers in law enforcement.

During the event, officers answered dozens of questions about what it takes to work in policing, the training required, and the many opportunities available in the field of public safety. The officers shared personal experiences and encouraged students interested in serving their community to consider a future career in law enforcement.

The career fair provided students with an opportunity to learn directly from professionals and explore different career paths as they begin thinking about their futures after graduation.

Representing the Dover Police Department at the event were Retired Lieutenant Charles Peterson, Intern Sarah Sperry, Special Officer Louis P. Sperry, and Police Officer Errick Williams.

Events like the Dover High School Career Fair allow local departments to connect with the next generation while giving students a better understanding of careers that help keep their communities safe.
