HANOVER TOWNSHIP — Hanover Township Det. Kaiser along with Capt. David White arrested Mr. Daniel Crowell, 48, Union, for shoplifting on Wednesday, October 9.
Officer Joe Quinn was called to respond to the Wegmans for a reported shoplifting of over $300.00 worth of merchandise.
Upon arriving at Wegmans, Officer Quinn was advised by the stores loss prevention of what had occurred and was shown video of the incident.
Mr. Crowell was observed exiting the store with a cart full of merchandise without paying.
When he was confronted by security he fled the scene in a grey BMW. The registration off the vehicle was provided to Det. Kaiser and he contacted Union Police Department and asked them to check to see if the BMW was in the area.
Union Police Department advised Det. Kaiser that the BMW was in the driveway of the residence and they would be making contact with the occupants.
Det. Kaiser and Capt. White responded to Union and arrested Mr. Crowell and transported him to Hanover Township Police Headquarters for processing.
He was charged with shoplifting and was transported to the county jail pending his court date.
