MORRIS COUNTY — Denville Police made two separate arrests this week following a motor vehicle stop and a hit-and-run crash investigation.
On Saturday, April 19, Denville Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 46 for an equipment violation. During the stop, officers identified the driver, Kacey Oliver, as having an active NCIC warrant. Oliver was arrested without incident and transported to Denville Police Headquarters. After processing, Oliver was turned over to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office for further disposition.
Later in the week, on Thursday, April 24, at 10:54 p.m., Denville Police responded to a motor vehicle crash with injuries on Route 10, just east of Franklin Road. Witnesses reported that the vehicle responsible had fled the scene. Working quickly, Denville officers gathered a description of the fleeing vehicle and alerted neighboring jurisdictions.
Shortly afterward, the Morris Township Police Department located the suspect vehicle. Through investigative efforts, the driver, identified as Maynor A. Vasquezcabrera, was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Denville Police arrested Vasquezcabrera, transported him to headquarters for processing, and subsequently charged him. He was later released pending a future court date at the Morris County Superior Court.
