EAST HANOVER — Alexander Cheringal of East Hanover has been named to the spring semester Dean’s List at Adelphi University in Garden City, New York.
Cheringal, a graduate of Hanover Park High School and the son of Donna and Joseph Cheringal, is an undeclared business major at Adelphi. He was named to the Northeast-10 Conference Academic Honor Roll with Academic Distinction for the spring semester and with Academic Honors for the fall semester.
At Hanover Park, Cheringal was a Preseason Perfect Game All-American, an All-New Jersey selection and a two-time First Team All-Conference honoree. He was also a three-year starter for the nationally ranked East Coast Lumberjacks and was named to the Perfect Game All-Tournament Team.
Adelphi’s deans of Arts and Sciences, Education and Health Sciences, Business, Nursing and Public Health, and Social Work and Psychology recognize superior academic work every semester. The Dean’s List includes full-time students registered for 12 or more credits who have completed at least 9 graded credits and earned a grade point average of 3.5 or above for the semester. The recognition becomes part of each student’s academic record and is entered on their transcript.
