HANOVER — The community is coming together for an evening of gratitude, entertainment, and support during the “Big Night of Thanks,” scheduled for Friday, July 18, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at 235 Ridgedale Avenue in Cedar Knolls. The event aims to raise funds to support Whippany firefighter Jim Danus, who was critically injured during a training drill earlier this year.
Danus, an active volunteer with the Whippany Fire Company since April 2021, also serves with the Florham Park First Aid Squad and is a former member of the Morris Township Fire Department. He remains hospitalized at Morristown Medical Center, recovering from serious injuries sustained on May 6, 2025, and faces a long road to rehabilitation.
The evening will begin with spirited performances by Miss Tammy and Sharon’s Studio of Dance and Music, followed by stand-up comedy from Senator Jon Bramnick, widely known as one of the funniest lawyers in New Jersey.
The local band will provide live musical entertainment “1 Adam 12,” featuring a talented lineup of area musicians:
- Joe Bilotti (guitar, vocals)
- Michael Cifelli (keyboards)
- Carolyn Dempsey (vocals)
- Dan Gallagher (guitar, vocals)
- Tom Ace Gallagher (drums)
- Mike Panciello (vocals)
- Mike Stanzilis (bass)
While there is no admission charge, attendees are encouraged to make a suggested donation of $20 to help support the Danus family during this difficult time. All funds raised will go directly toward assisting with medical and household expenses as Jim continues his recovery.
This heartfelt community gathering serves not only as a fundraiser but as a show of appreciation for a firefighter who has dedicated himself to serving others.
